This Crisp AU/UNC German 50 Pfennig note dated November 1, 1921 features a hooded horseman, his head facing the past as his horse gallops into the future. Behind him is a large billowing red cloud, a horrible reminder of Germany’s loss in World War I. But the hooded horseman is looking behind that cloud, longing for the “Good ‘ol Days”, to a slower and happier time.
