Captain Marvel Junior was first introduced by Fawcett Comics in December 1941. A sudden bolt of lightning and everyday paperboy Freddy Freeman became the World's Mightiest Teenager and the sidekick to Captain Marvel (also known as the character Shazam). Unlike his elder, Junior remains a teenage boy and does not grow up when transformed into a superhero. Captain Marvel Junior was a big hit with young boys and caught the imagination of one young fan in particular; Elvis Presley. In fact, Presley’s Captain Marvel Junior comic book collection still resides at Graceland! This 1940’s “Sensational Action Toy" is die-cut paper and features Captain Marvel Junior on a pair of skis.
