James M. Cox and his running mate Franklin D. Roosevelt were the Democratic nominees in the presidential election of 1920. When the votes were counted on November 2, the Cox-Roosevelt ticket was soundly defeated by the Republican Harding-Coolidge ticket, losing by over seven million popular votes. Because the campaign was severely underfinanced, presidential political buttons of Cox are very expensive. In a recent auction, a mint condition Cox-Roosevelt picture button sold for over $25,000.00! As a lower cost alternative, we offer two different near mint condition metal “Rooster” studs.
