John and Jacqueline Kennedy Salt and Pepper Set
kennedy salt and pepper

The public courtship and marriage of John F. Kennedy (1917- 1961) and Jacqueline Bouvier (1929-1994) has long been referred to as a real life “Camelot”. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts and was voted “most likely to succeed” in high school and went on to  graduate Cum Laude from Harvard with a degree in Government in 1940. He was elected to the House of Representatives in Massachusets in 1947. Jacqueline Bouvier was born in Southampton, New York and went on to graduate in 1951 from George Washington University with a degree in French literature.  Her first job was with Vogue Magazine and then with the Washington Times-Herald where her position was “Inquiring Camera Girl”.  She had just called off an engagement with a stockbroker when she met John in May 1952 at a Washington D.C. dinner party.  John said after that first meeting “I’ve never met anyone like her”. A little over a year later he proposed to Jackie with a Van Cleef and Arpel ring set consisting of a 2.88 carat diamond and a 2.84 Emerald. They married September 12, 1953 in Rhode Island.  From the time of “Camelot” we offer a vintage set of salt a pepper shakers picturing President Kennedy and Jacqueline. Approximately 2.75 “ tall, this set is in excellent condition. Supplies are very limited...
