This beautifully engraved check from the L.H. Hershfield and Brother Banking House measures approximately 8.5” x 4” and was issued in the 1880’s.  Printed by the world renowned American Bank Note Company, this check shows a vignette of a young woman holding a scale with a bag of coins at her feet.  In the background is a ship at sea.  Serial numbered, this cancelled check lists the payee, the amount of the check and contains signatures of both the payor and payee.  Best of all, this check also includes an imprinted 2¢ revenue stamp!  Selling elsewhere for $39.95, we offer this check to you at half that price.
