Based on a veterinarian’s estimate, “Socks” was likely born in early 1989. He was adopted by the Clintons in 1991 after he jumped into the arms of Chelsea Clinton as she was leaving her house in Little Rock, Arkansas. When Bill Clinton became president, Socks moved with the family from the Governor’s Mansion to the White House, where he officially became “First Cat”. When the Clinton’s moved from the White House in 2001, Socks was left under the care of Secretary Betty Currie. Socks lived to the ripe old age of 20. We offer this colorful “I Like Socks” button for your consideration. In mint condition.
