These Viet Cong surrender leaflets were dropped into the Vietnamese countryside during 1965-6 for two reasons:  (1) to convince members of the Viet Cong to give up their guerrilla ways and to return to a productive life in their villages and (2) to persuade villagers to support the war against the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese. These multi-themed leaflets show photos of North Vietnamese P.O.W.’s decorating their barracks and a soccer game in action. The underlying message is that of ending the war. On the reverse of the leaflet is a more direct statement: “Freedom is better than being a prisoner of war, but being a prisoner of war is better than getting killed.” We offer this authentic (8.25” x 3.25”) Viet Cong surrender leaflet in excellent condition as follows:
